The Abia State Police Command says Mr. Udochi Amala, his wife, Mrs. Amala, and their 2-year-old daughter are all dead after Amala, the home’s father, set their house on fire.
DSP Maureen Chinaka, the Abia Command Police Public Relations Officer, informed the public of this.
She claims that on May 16, 2025, the leader of the Asa Umudioka vigilante group reported the event that took place in the Asa Umudioka autonomous community in Osisioma Ngwa LGA of Abia State to the Police Divisional Headquarters in Osisioma.
She clarified that the community vigilante group’s leader had stated that the group had heard a loud scream and, upon arriving on the site, had seen flames emanating from the home of a local resident named Mr. Udochi Amala.

She claims that after accusing his wife of adultery on many occasions, Mr. Amala set himself and his family inside the house on fire, which resulted in the untimely death of their 2-year-old daughter.
The child’s body was discovered and placed in the mortuary by Osisioma Division detectives who arrived at the scene of the tragedy right away, she added.

“However, on 17/05/2025, both Mr. Udochi Amala and his wife, who were receiving medical attention, were confirmed dead by the hospital.”
