Ndagi Mohammed, a suspected vandal, has been taken into custody by the Niger State Police Command in relation to the theft of electrical lines from poles in Ndejiko village, which is located in the state’s Edati Local Government Area.
On June 5, 2025, the suspect, who lived in Ndejiko village, was discovered in possession of rolls of electrical wires that he had purportedly taken from damaged electrical poles in his community.
The matter was reported to the police of the “B” Division, Bida, on June 7, 2025, according to SP Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer.

He said that officers located Mohammed and retrieved the pilfered wires after receiving a tip.

He explained that, acting on a tip-off, detectives tracked down Mohammed and recovered the stolen cables.
The police PRO disclosed that, during interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, revealing that he was seeking a buyer to whom he could sell the stolen goods.
The suspect is currently in custody, undergoing further investigation and facing prosecution for his alleged involvement in the vandalisation of public property
