Afrobeat singer Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, aka Kizz Daniel, has opened up about the loss of his son and dad.
Speaking in a podcast interview, he shared how grief had inspired his song ‘Al-Jannah.’
According to him, “When my dad was alive, he was my best friend,” Kizz Daniel said.
‘Al-Jannah’ means “paradise”. I wanted to write a tribute song. We’ve lost people in the past. We lost our son in 2021.

I lost my dad in 2015; my wife lost her mum in 2024; I lost my step-mum; we lost a whole lot of people.
I wanted to make a song for everyone, not just one person. It’s about our loved ones we have lost in this journey of life.
“I think I was able to accomplish that by using the word friend in the song,” he said.
Daniel lost his father on the 9th of May, 2015, just a few days after his 21st birthday.
Kizz Daniel recently hinted at early retirement from music.

He also explained he has over 600 songs he wants to release before bowing out of the music scene.
The singer is teasing another EP, ‘Orange Chase,’ barely a week after releasing his latest EP, ‘Lemon Chase,’.
Shortly after he announced the lineup of guest artists on his upcoming EP, ‘Orange Chase’ on X, a fan wrote, “VADO wan finish us with over feeding ✌”
Responding, Kizz Daniel said, “I have over 600 songs I want to dish out before I hang boot , so ♂️.”
In another post, the singer announced that he is taking a break from recording to focus on his family.
He wrote, “No more recording for me …. Just enjoying life like it should be …. My family don diss me say I choose studio over them, I’m changing.”
