Two people in Kogi State’s Ankpa Local Government Area have died from suspected food poisoning.
Ankpa residents Sheriff Salifu and Blessing Adama were identified as the deceased.
The death occurred early Friday morning, according to sources.
According to SP William Ovye Aya, the Kogi Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, who verified the incident, the command is looking into it right now.

“It is the cost of sudden and unnatural death. Today at about 12:00 hours, one Salisu Ibrahim from Alo in Ankpa came to the station and reported that at about 09:31, his tenant, one Sheriff Salifu (deceased) did not come out of his room as usual.
“So, the brother to the deceased entered the room through the ceiling and met his brother, Sheriff Salifu and one Blessing Adama of Ojogobi road, Ankpa, lying lifeless in the room. Both deceased were seen naked.
“The Divisional Police Officer in Ankpa detailed detectives, and they moved to the scene where they saw the body, took photographs and took the deceased person to the zonal hospital in Ankpa before they were confirmed dead. They were also taken for postmortem examination.

“But the family of Sheriff requested that the body should be released to them. So, he has been buried according to Islamic rite while the remains of Blessing Adama are still deposited at the mortuary,” he said.
