The conflict between police and thugs in Omu Aran, the capital of the Irepodun Local Government Area in Kwara State, on May 25 and 26 is said to have resulted in the deaths of two people, according to The Intercept.
In addition to confirming the development to The Intercept on Wednesday, a security official said that it is unknown where Oba Adeoti, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, whose palace was stormed, is.
According to The Intercept, a motorbike was set on fire, and the traditional ruler’s palace was assaulted.
Although efforts to reach the police public relations officer of the command, SP Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi and the Olomu of Omu-Aran proved abortive on Wednesday, calm has been restored in the community.
However, the residents are still apprehensive despite the deployment of security personnel in seven Hilux vans to the troubled community to restore law and order.

The crisis was reportedly triggered by hoodlums who attempted to shield an alleged drug dealer from arrest by police operatives in the community.
