African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, will stay in Kuje jail in Abuja until June 30.
A Federal High Court in Abuja will make a decision on his motion contesting the revocation of his bail and the arrest warrant that was issued against him.
Sowore is being prosecuted by the Department of State Services (DSS) for reportedly making false accusations against President Bola Tinubu and calling him “a criminal” in a post on his Facebook and “X” pages.
On June 22, the court withdrew the bail that had previously been granted to him and issued a bench warrant for his arrest for neglecting to appear in court against an existing order.

The lawsuit will proceed on a daily basis.
After hearing arguments from the solicitors for the parties who submitted the motion, Justice Mohammed Umar decided on June 30 for his decision on Wednesday.
Raphael Adakole, Sowore’s attorney, pleaded with the court to accept his client’s request and reject the prosecution’s counteraffidavit.
Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN), the prosecution attorney, responded by opposing Sowore’s application.

Kehinde argued that Sowore did not place truthful fact before the court, capable of swaying the court to exercise its discretion in his favour.
Shortly after the judge announced the adjournment of the case, Adakole requested that should be released to him. He undertook to produce him in court on the next date.
Kehinde objected to Adakole’s request, arguing that such an application could not be made orally.
Adakole, in reaction, said he was only standing in for a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, “of impeccable character whose words should mean something to the court.”
The judge said releasing Sowore to the lawyer would be preemptive of the ruling scheduled for June 30 on his pending application.
Justice Umar said he was more inclined to leave the matter as adjourned.
