After being detained by the authorities for four days, controversial streamer Peller has spoken out.
On Friday, July 3, 2026, Peller was taken into custody following an altercation with some police officers, whom he claimed were pointing a pistol at him after he was pulled over for operating a tinted car.
On Tuesday, he was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, behaviour likely to cause a breach of public peace, and obstructing police officers in the performance of their duty before the Lagos State Magistrate’s Court.
But among other things, the judge gave him N500,000 bail.

Following his release, Peller broke his silence by sharing his experience in police custody in a post on his Snapchat site.
Revealing why he hasn’t resumed streaming, Peller said, “I didn’t bathe or eat for four days. I can’t show my face yet because I look ugly. It has never happened to me before in my life.
“When they put me in the cell, the people wey dey there said, You’re our 001 now. Omo, I just burst into laugher. I didn’t eat or bathe for four days. They wanted to wicked me, but God saved me”, he added.

Nigerian singer YCee has responded to criticism for his contentious remarks on the country’s current “brain-rot” content trend, which he called the “olodo uprising”.
YCee caused a stir when he used well-known TikToker Peller as an example of what he called the “olodo uprising,” in which Nigerians are increasingly turning to “brain-rot” content for amusement at the expense of edutainment.
He was criticised by some for using Peller as an example, claiming that he could have made his argument without mentioning Peller by name.
In response, YCee stated in a recent interview with Cool FM Lagos that he doesn’t owe anyone an apology for buttering Peller.
He said, “Some people are saying I shouldn’t have called Peller’s name, but I said what I said. If you feel offended, you should check yourself.
A lot of people are also taking what I said out of context. The olodo uprising is even worse than I thought because there are so many people coming out to defend it.
