Claims that Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), supported the ruling administration have been refuted.
Adeboye has continuously maintained a neutral position on partisan politics, according to a statement issued by RCCG Public Relations on Tuesday.
The church clarified that the pastor does not support any political party; instead, he only advises members to get their Permanent Voter Cards and cast their ballots for the politicians of their choosing.
“Pastor E.A Adeboye has always encouraged members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to get their PVC’s and vote for anyone of their choice. He has always maintained a neutral stance on political parties as members of the church are memnbers of various parties”, the statement reads.
The church also refuted reports that Adeboye cancelled a planned protest. It said he merely communicated a directive from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria concerning changes to a three-day prayer programme and rally.
“Pastor E.A. Adeboye only communicated the instruction of the Pentecostal Fellowship in Nigeria to members of the RCCG on the updated plan to have the grand finale of the Three Day Prayer Program in a centralized venue and hold a rally around the venue. This was communicated by PFN to all churches under PFN in Nigeria,” it said.
The PFN revised its plans to host the program’s grand finale at a central area and have a rally around it.

According to RCCG, it has defined channels for official communication and approved representatives. Before accepting or disseminating any information regarding Adeboye or the church, the public is advised to confirm it via its official PR platform.
Bloggers, commentators, media outlets, and content creators were advised by the church not to broadcast unconfirmed claims.
The public needs the truth, the church deserves justice, and Adeboye deserves accurate reporting, the RCCG continued.
The statement reads: “The lies have gone on long enough. It stops now!!! For far too long, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and The Redeemed Christian Church of God have been subjected to false narratives, deliberate misrepresentations, and misleading commentaries driven by personal interests and agenda setting.
“Let it be clearly stated: Pastor Adeboye and The RCCG will not be defined by falsehood, and neither will the Church remain silent while inaccurate narratives are repeatedly circulated as facts.
“The Redeemed Christian Church of God has designated channels and authorized representatives responsible for communicating official positions on behalf of the Church. Therefore, before accepting, sharing, or amplifying any claim concerning Pastor E.A. Adeboye or The RCCG, verify it through our official public relations platform If a claim is not communicated, verified, or endorsed through RCCG’s official communication channels, it should not be regarded as an official position of the Church.
“To bloggers, commentators, media platforms, and content publishers: this serves as a clear notice. Accuracy is not optional. Responsible journalism requires verification. Going forward, any publication concerning Pastor E.A. Adeboye or The RCCG should be properly fact-checked through the Church’s official PR platform before being presented as fact.
“The public deserves the truth, not speculation. The Church deserves fairness, not distortion. Pastor Adeboye deserves accuracy, not manufactured narratives. Verify before you believe. Fact-check before you publish. Truth matters”.
