A delegation led by Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff, at the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.
Among the delegation were Hon. Joseph Oche, the founder of the G12 Foundation, and Rt. Hon. David Ogewu, a member of the House of Representatives who represents the Oju/Obi Federal Constituency.
The purpose of the visit was to express gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for his efforts and concern in tackling the increasing levels of insecurity in Benue State, especially in the Benue South Senatorial District, where killings and attacks have become catastrophic and frequent.

During the meeting, Senator Moro and his team formally requested the deployment of more troops to vulnerable communities and the establishment of a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in one of the high-risk areas within the senatorial district.
