Toyin Abraham has promised never to exchange pleasantries with Funke Akindele again after she was disgracefully snubbed at a movie premiere.
Toyin made this statement following Funke’s public rejection of her.
Funke had tapped Toyin Abraham’s hand and mentioned her name during the Sunday night screening of actress Iyabo Ojo’s film, but she refused to respond.
Toyin was heard saying, “Aunty Funke, good evening ma.” In response, Funke completely ignored her and looked away despite tapping her.
Toyin, who felt embarrassed by the incident, however, walked away from her.
The development sparked controversy on social media, with many users condemning Funke Akindele’s negative energy.
However, reacting to the viral video under a post on Instagram, Toyin disclosed that she has unfollowed Funke and also vowed never to greet her again.
Toyin wrote in a now deleted comment “I have unfollowed her, God forbid bad things. If I ever greet her again that means I’m a bastard.”

In June 2025, Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele showed off their newfound friendship after ending their feud.
This came a year after Toyin Abraham, in a reconciliation plea on Instagram, sought an end to persistent industry rivalry between her, Mercy Aigbe, and Funke Akindele.
However, putting aside the feud, the movie stars followed each other on Instagram as they shared affection.
Toyin Abraham has extended a hand of friendship to her rumoured rival in the industry, Funke Akindele.
In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, the “Alakada” actress went down memory lane to years ago, when they both started their acting careers.
She acknowledged Funke Akindele’s production prowess, stating she is an inspiration to women all over Nigeria. Toyin Abraham also eulogised the actress for topping the box office.
She wrote, “In the English industry, Aunty Funke and I continued the rivalry sort of. It pitted our fans against each other. We are two competitive Virgo women, we love to win and sometimes in that process, we splash dirt and mud. But with time, age, and more wisdom, I have realized we can compete without being negatively competitive.
“Aunty Funke, I celebrate you for showing us what is possible. You are a winner. Sold over 1B, you made it possible for other women to dream. You ran us street with that 1B o, this year, many of us will move to 1B and we pray God makes you bigger. Thank you for making great movies and selling them like your life depends on it. You taught other women to hustle harder.“I had set records in box office records, Aunty
and beat them, today I am happy because she has challenged me to set higher goals. Sis, let’s compliment each other even in competition at the box office, I owe you one post in December (only 1 o, I need to sell market…Lol). I pray that God will make all your dreams come true. I admire you and wish you all the best.” She wrote.
