Nigerian musician Ayra Starr has described how Wizkid taught her that being confident isn’t just about making noise.
As she talked about her encounters with Wizkid, she made this statement.
In an interview on Tuesday following her performance at the Grammy Museum, Ayra Starr referred to Wizkid as a “leading legend.”

She said she learned a lot about self-assurance and purpose from the singer’s manner.
“Wizkid is a leading legend. We all know that. My first time working with him, I just couldn’t believe it and I was myself. But the second time, he was very calm, cool, and relaxed.
“I know confidence isn’t noise. he made me have that understanding. He’s very present & confident in his life mission, and that made me learn a lot.”

Afrobeats musician Davido has explained why he worked with Omah Lay, revealing that he did so since the Soso crooner publicly expressed his reservations about his love for him.
Davido clarified in a popular video broadcast that he contacted Omah Lay after seeing his tweet. They collaborated on “With You” as a result of their interactions, he continued.
“How Omah Lay and I got together was, Kai Cenat came to Nigeria and I was driving him to the club and then Omah Lay’s song comes up, and he was like, ‘Who is this?’
“I responded, ‘Oh! This is Omah Lay, he is hot.’ And then the next day, Omah Lay tweeted like, ‘Wow! Davido gave me a shoutout on a livestream, I thought he hated me.’ And I Dmed him, ‘Why would you think I hate you? We’ve never met.’
“We eventually, exchanged numbers and we were going back-and-forth with music. We did about four songs and he chose ‘With You’ as the one we would release,” he explained.
‘With You’ is one of the standout tracks of Davido’s fifth album, 5ive.
The song has been nominated for the Best African Music Performance category at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
