The former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, says the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition movement will not endure.
Ortom stated that he had no intention of joining any alliance or abandoning the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he asserted was the party he led in Benue State.
In a Channels Television interview, Ortom added that he had no regrets over opposing Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign.
“I did not hide it. I have no regret,” the former governor said.

According to The Intercept, Ortom was a member of the PDP’s “G5 governors,” who publicly disapproved of Atiku as the party’s nominee and served under Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.
He claimed that their action was motivated by political interest rather than betrayal. Politics and interest are inextricably linked, the former governor stated, adding that “I have to fight back if I have somebody working against my interest and the interest of my people.”
Ortom went on to say that the ADC-led alliance will vanish like the dawn light.
He claimed that Atiku’s recent departure from the PDP did not surprise him.
Ortom said, “People are free to join any coalition that they so wish, but for me, and the people that I lead, we remain in PDP. I’m the leader of PDP in Benue State and a member of the BoT.
“I am not joining any coalition. We have no business with that.
“I don’t see it surviving.
“In any case, even if they survive, if they are through with the litigation that is going on, they will be defeated hands down.”
