The All Progressives Congress leaders and stakeholders meeting was held on Saturday at the home of Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District. Among those in attendance were former House of Representatives member Mr. Ndudi Elumelu, Delta State Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme, and the immediate past governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa.
The gathering, which Nwoko hosted at his rural residence in Idumuje Ugboko in Delta State’s Aniocha North Local Government Area, decided to strive for greater party unity before the general elections in 2027.
APC chieftains, leaders, elders, youths, members, and supporters in the senatorial district were among the stakeholders who reiterated their dedication to the realisation of the formation of Anioma State from the current Delta State.
Speaking to the crowd, Nwoko said that a technical committee would be established in Asaba to assist him in bringing Anioma State’s formation to fruition.
He said, “We are on course. The technical committee will be inaugurated in Asaba to help me work towards actualising the creation of Anioma State.
”If you were at Agbor during the APC stakeholders gathering, you heard when the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Umar Ganduje, said the creation of Anioma State is a done deal.
”We have taken all the steps in the Senate. As of today, 75 senators are supporting Anioma State.

“We have moved from the committee stage of the process to a public hearing coming up in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Thereafter, we will come back to the Senate for the third reading of the bill for the creation of Anioma State.
“By next month, I will commence a visitation tour of all nine local government areas in Delta North to showcase my development achievements for the past two years, especially in areas of road construction in the senatorial district, many motions and bills in the Red Chamber.
“My priority still remains the completion of the Ogwashi-Ukwu multi-purpose dam, and the national grid step down at Okpai for light. I know that when we have light and water, everybody will be happy”

Recall that a few weeks ago, when the meeting was fixed, the deputy governor, Onyeme, who claimed to be the APC leader in Delta North senatorial district, according to the party constitution, had queried the rationale behind fixing the APC meeting in Nwoko’s house.
There have been leadership issues between Ifeanyi Okowa/ Monday Onyeme, and Senator Ned Nwoko, right from the PDP now to the APC.
In his remarks, the Chairman of APC Delta North Senatorial District, Chief Eluaka Adizue, urged those who recently joined the party to register at their various wards along with the ongoing online membership registration.
Speaking further, former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, called for the reconciliation of aggrieved members of the party for stronger unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We are not having a party to divide us. We are having a party to unify and unite everybody. We must unite the party, particularly in Delta North”, stated Ochei.
