Another Super Eagles player has scored the only goal to secure all three points for his team, as Alex Iwobi’s strike earned Fulham their first league win of the season, following Akor Adams’ decisive goal in Venezia’s first league victory.
Alex Iwobi scored the decisive goal as Fulham secured their first Premier League victory of the 2026/27 campaign with a 1–0 win over Hull City at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
The Nigeria international struck in the 33rd minute to end Fulham’s wait for a league victory after six matches without a win.
Iwobi opened the scoring after Sander Berge laid the ball off to him on the edge of the penalty area. The Nigerian midfielder struck first-time into the bottom corner to give the hosts the lead.
Fulham continued to create chances after the break, with Josh King denied by Hull goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis. Iwobi also came close to adding a second before delivering a cross that Gonzalo García headed against the crossbar.
Hull failed to register a shot on target throughout the match, while Fulham controlled proceedings and created several opportunities to extend their lead.
Fulham had to see out the closing stages with 10 men after Ryan Sessegnon was sent off in stoppage time, but they held on to claim all three points.
The victory helped Fulham move away from the danger zone after recording two draws and four defeats in their opening six matches. It also eased the pressure on manager Álvaro Arbeloa following a difficult start to his tenure.
