Nigeria’s world record holder Tobi Amusan has been confirmed for the 2026 ATHLOS women’s track series, where she will compete in the 100m hurdles in both London and New York.
The London event will take place on September 18 at StoneX Stadium, while the New York leg will be held on October 2 at Icahn Stadium. ATHLOS is a women-only professional track series featuring some of the biggest names in athletics.
The 2026 series has a combined prize pool of more than $2.1m. Athletes will earn prize money at both events, while points from the two meetings will determine the overall champion in each discipline. The winner of an individual event in each city will receive $65,000.
Amusan heads into the competition after another impressive season. At the 2026 African Championships in Accra, she successfully defended her 100m hurdles title, winning in 12.83 seconds. World Athletics described it as her third African Championships title in the event.
She has also enjoyed strong performances on the Diamond League circuit this year. In Rabat, she won the 100m hurdles in 12.28 seconds and improved her own meeting record. She later won in Paris, also running 12.28 seconds.
Her latest major achievement came at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, where she won bronze in the 100m hurdles in 12.60 seconds. The result ended her bid for a third straight Commonwealth title after she won gold at the 2018 Gold Coast and 2022 Birmingham Games.
Amusan’s overall record remains impressive. She is the reigning 100m hurdles world record holder with a time of 12.12 seconds, a mark she set in 2022, when she also became world champion. She has also won the Diamond League Final three times.
With another opportunity to compete against the world’s best, Amusan will now turn her attention to ATHLOS as she continues to build on an already remarkable career.
