Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Savinho from English Premier League counterparts Manchester City.
Born in São Mateus, Brazil, Savinho joined Atlético Mineiro’s youth team and made his professional debut at just 16 years old in August 2020. In his second season with the senior side, the winger helped Atlético Mineiro secure a historic domestic treble.
After making 35 senior appearances and scoring two goals for Atlético Mineiro, Savinho moved to France to join Troyes before spending the 2022/23 season on loan at PSV Eindhoven. He subsequently joined Girona on loan.
Savinho enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Girona in 2023/24, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. In LaLiga alone, he recorded nine goals and 10 assists in 37 appearances as Girona finished third and secured Champions League qualification.
In July 2024, he earned a move to Manchester City. Savinho made 84 appearances and scored seven goals for City and was part of the team that secured a domestic cup double earlier this year, as City won both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
He earned his first call-up to Brazil’s senior squad in March 2024 and represented his nation at the 2024 Copa América. He has 13 caps and one goal for the Seleção to date.
According to Transfermarkt, Spurs have now completed 16 signings, with their total transfer spending reaching €354.70 million.
Savinho said: “It’s taken a while but I’m very happy to be here.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world.
“As soon as I spoke to the Head Coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team.”
Head Coach Roberto De Zerbi said: “Savinho is a player who brings energy, imagination and quality in wide positions. He has the courage to attack defenders and the ability to change a game with his creativity.
“We’re very pleased to have him with us, and I’m looking forward to working with him, helping him continue to grow and seeing him bring his personality to the team.”
