Veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, often known as Ogogo, has received support from Nollywood actors and actresses after his daughters made a heartfelt plea for immediate medical attention during his fight with stage four cancer.
Leading the appeal for assistance was actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo, who asked Nigerians and medical professionals to help the family locate doctors and healthcare facilities that might assess Ogogo’s condition.
“Please let’s rally around our beloved Sir Taiwo Hassan, who is currently facing a serious health challenge, battling cancer.
“As shared by his family, they are NOT looking for money or financial support. What they urgently need is medical direction.
“If you know someone who knows someone in the oncology space, or a medical avenue that can assist, please help reach out to his family immediately,“ Adebayo wrote on X.

Actress Toyin Abraham also joined the campaign on Tuesday, sharing a video of Ogogo’s daughters on Instagram and appealing to those who could assist to contact the family.
“Pls kindly send dm to @kira_taiwo @limataiwo_ or me pls. Anyhow, anyone can help ejoor,” she wrote.
In a widely shared Instagram video on Monday night, Ogogo’s daughter Shaki Taiwo made a plea for her father’s medical care.
Shaki had disclosed that because of the seriousness of his condition, the hospital had halted his therapy.
With an acting career spanning over 40 years, Ogogo, 66, is one of the most well-known veterans of Yoruba cinema.
He is still well-known in the Nigerian film business and has been in hundreds of films.
In April, controversial self-proclaimed relationship expert Blessing CEO apologised to Nigerians over the controversy surrounding her health status.
We revealed that she was being investigated for her purported cancer diagnosis, for which she asked the public for financial support to treat stage 4 cancer.
She addressed her followers in a recent video through her official Instagram account, apologising for the uncertainty and resentment her predicament has caused.
As she continues to chronicle her health journey, she also pledges to make her medical records public.
She added that anyone who made a donation and wanted a refund would be taken care of upon request.
