Top Nigerian comedian and actor Chibunna Stanley, aka Funnybone, has explained why he keeps his wife and kids off social media.
Funnybone stated in a recent episode of The Moraya Show that he prefers to keep his personal life private and doesn’t showcase his family on social media.
The host asked, “Are you married?”
Funnybone replied: “Yes, I am married with two kids.”
The host asked, “But you don’t put them out there as much as we would love for you to do as a celebrity. Why?”
Funnybone replied, “In a world where people are just there to look at what is not looking at them, it is safer for you to keep your personal life private.
“Outside and on the stage, I am Funnybone, but at home, I am Chibunna.”

On where he sees the Nigerian comedy industry in the next 10 years, Funnybone said, “We are hoping to export our crafts to the world globally.
“And for that to happen, the ecosystem needs to change. So we need to change our approach to the production, packaging and marketing of comedy in Nigeria.”
In March 2026, veteran Nigerian actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, famous for his role as Papa Ajasco, disclosed the difficulties he has encountered, despite being well-known.
In an interview with media personality Lucky Udu, Ayoyinka disclosed that the character’s trademark ownership has restricted his options outside of the well-known comedy franchise.
The actor claims that it is challenging for him to exploit the persona of Papa Ajasco for personal or business endeavours because the character is legally registered by Wale Adenuga’s production firm.
He said the restriction has prevented him from appearing in advertisements or brand campaigns, even though many companies want him to appear in the famous costume and persona.
