Sharon Adeleke, the daughter of billionaire Deji Adeleke and sister of artist Davido, has clarified that, contrary to popular belief, children from affluent backgrounds—also known as “Nepo babies” in Nigeria—do not have access to money.
In a recent episode of The Moraya Show, Sharon clarified that although children of billionaires and millionaires receive more from their parents than the ordinary person, they are always on a tight budget.
They may receive land and properties from their parents, she continued, but they must use them to generate their own income.
“A lot of Nepo babies don’t really have access to cash the way you guys make it seem. They have more than the average person, but they are always on a budget. Your school fees are paid, and you are given land and properties, but you have to make use of them,” she explained.
Sharon also revealed that she sits with Davido every week to track his spending.

“Me and Davido would sit and have a finance meeting every week because I think it is important for him to know how his money is being spent,” she said.
She disclosed that she has advised him to stop spending on acquiring more luxurious cars.
Davido recently disclosed during a livestream with streamer Davrel that he paid 11 million dollars for a custom-made Bugatti expected to be delivered to him in Nigeria soon.
In August, Carter Efe explained how Afrobeats star Davido helped him earn the most money of his life through a livestream.
Carter revealed that he discussed his streaming career, his friendship with Davido, and the expansion of digital content creation in Nigeria in a recent episode of the Cocktails & Takeaways podcast.
He claimed that Davido’s involvement in one of his livestreams drew a sizeable viewership and greatly raised his income.
”Davido made me the biggest money of my life on a stream in one night. I became a big boy overnight,” he said.
