Musa Lamidi, 27, was remanded at a correctional institution on Wednesday by an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for the suspected murder of his father, Rufai.
Lamidi, who did not have a definite residence, was accused of murder.
For lack of jurisdiction, Magistrate Mr. Olaolu Olanipekun rejected Lamidi’s plea and ordered the police to send the case file back to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal counsel.
For instance, he postponed the matter to July 10.
The Prosecutor, ASP Musbau Lawal, had earlier informed the court that Lamidi committed the offence on May 11, at about 11 p.m., at Eruwa, Oyo State.

He alleged that Lamidi hit his father with a stick on the forehead, which caused his death.
According to him, the offence contravened the provisions of Section 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
