Folarin Falana, aka Falz, is a well-known singer and activist from Nigeria who has demanded a public hearing about the Federal Government’s inability to equip the military in spite of the enormous sums of money allocated for ammunition each year.
Falz decided on Monday in response to the nation’s security circumstances.
Describing the situation in the country as “a national security emergency”, the singer charged “every citizen to contact their Reps and senators with coordinated emails, phone calls and WhatsApp messages”.

Speaking in a now trending video, he said “We need to call for public a hearing, broadcast on live TV, livestream for anybody anywhere in the world to watch. So many billions and billions being budgeted and being released for acquisition of arms and ammunition but what happening? While is the military still ill-equipped, why are military convoys still being ambushed by this criminals? Why was an army general murdered on video?”
Falz urged Nigerians to call for an emergency “public hearing to address the strategy to defeat terrorism, rumours of an ill-equipped military and how Nigerians will be kept safe”.

The first service was held on Sunday at the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Oke-Isegun in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, Kwara State, which was attacked last Tuesday by robbers who killed three, abducted 38, and injured several others.
There was a strong security presence both inside and outside the building for the Sunday church service.
Journalists saw a large-scale deployment of security personnel throughout Eruku, including soldiers, the Kwara Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit, SWAT, the Special Tactical Squad from Force Headquarters, and local vigilantes.
President Bola Tinubu was reportedly in charge of the deployment, ordering cooperative efforts to find the assailants and save the victims.
Meanwhile, the service, conducted inside the blood-stained auditorium where the attack occurred last Tuesday, was dominated by prayers for the release of the kidnapped worshippers and for the repose of the deceased.
