Nigeria’s quest for reliable electricity gets a massive boost as the Federal Government sets its sights on a game-changing hydropower dam in Limpye, Plateau State a project engineered to increase the national grid with clean, sustainable energy.

Minister of Water Resources Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev confirmed the plan during an on-ground assessment in Plateau The project is not all just about water; it is about power.

The proposed dam will harness regional waterways to generate megawatts of hydroelectricity for the North-Central zone, while simultaneously driving irrigation, securing potable water, and unlocking hundreds of jobs for local women and youth.

While Limpye awaits FEC approval, the 90%-complete Mangu Dam is on the brink of commissioning. With complementary projects along the Sokoto–Badagry corridor and active rehabilitation at Alau Dam.
