Famous journalist Oma Akatugba has asserted that Maduka Okoye, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, rejected the advances of a Nigerian billionaire heiress.
Oma mentioned that the incident occurred while Okoye was still a player for Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch league.
He clarified that he went to see the goalkeeper, and, after showing him his phone, the latter saw a message from a billionaire’s daughter.
The journalist reported that he attempted to persuade Okoye to consider the billionaire’s daughter by pointing out her affluent background, but the goalkeeper replied that she did not fit his ideal of a woman.
On his X handle, Oma wrote, “On day I was at Maduka’s place while he was still living in Holland, and he showed me his phone. He had a message from the daughter of a Nigerian billionaire. I screamed, ‘Bro, this one ma big fish o!’ He laughed and said, ‘Yeah, but she’s not really in my league beauty-wise.’”

After Maduka Okoye’s 2019 debut for the Super Eagles, women in Nigeria openly show their admiration for him. The women complimented his appearance and build.
After the advances became overwhelming, Okoye eventually admitted to having a girlfriend.
Maduka Okoye and Dutch model Jelicia Westhoff are in a long-term relationship. The couple has a son, Isaiah Emil Okoye.
Singer Emoseh Khamofu, aka Bloody Civilian, has stated that being an artist has changed her perspective on the principles she was brought up with.
The artist stated in a recent episode of the Not Just On podcast that she no longer finds attraction in some of the traditional expectations her family has for a woman from the North.
The 26-year-old disclosed that she does not currently have any intentions to get married, despite the wishes of her family.
She claimed that despite the fact that she does not look forward to marriage, her family still brings up the topic.
Bloody Civilian clarified that her profession has shaped her perception of the surroundings and the family values she was raised with.
She said, “One thing my family still does not understand about being an artiste is that certain conventional things they expect of a woman from the North are simply not things I am excited to do.
“For instance, marriage is not something I am thinking of at all. But that question keeps being brought up.”
