Together with the Katsina State Civilian Watch Committee (KSCWC) and local vigilantes, troops from Operation Fasan Yamma (OPFY) successfully repulsed a bandit onslaught in the state’s Matazu Local Government Area and freed a mother and her child who had been kidnapped.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the gunmen broke into Ringin Gora Village and abducted 22-year-old Saratu Abdullahi and her child, according to information obtained by The Intercept.

The bandits were forced to run as the army started an operation, firing for fire at them in response to credible intelligence, leaving the kidnapped mother and her child behind.
