Outraged by the ongoing killings in the state, angry Benue youths protested and blocked the Abuja-Makurdi motorway on Sunday.
Wearing black clothing and holding placards with varied slogans and palm fronds, the protesters blocked the busy road, obstructing traffic and calling for quick action to put an end to the carnage.
According to The Intercept, the demonstrators blocked traffic, which resulted in traffic jams and anxiety among commuters.

Less than twenty-four hours have passed since suspected armed herders attacked the Yelewata hamlet in Guma Local Government Area, killing more than 200 people.
In response to rising tensions in the impacted areas, the Benue State Government has previously warned against illegal gatherings and clashes, especially among young people.
