Oludemilade Martin Alejo, better known by his stage name YCee, is a Nigerian singer who has been away from the music world for a few years.
The “Juice” vocalist disclosed that he took a hiatus from music to focus on personal growth during a recent livestream with media personality Carter Efe.
He clarified that after embarking on a self-discovery path, he has now turned back to music.
“I have been on the mountain. I went on a journey of self-discovery. But I am back,” he said.
YCee also explained the lore behind his moniker “Omo Alhaji”, revealing that his dad is a Muslim even though he is not a practising Muslim.
The music star described his personal spiritual philosophy as being centered simply on “love”.
Before his hiatus, YCee dominated the Nigerian music industry with hits like ‘Jagaban’, ‘Jucie’, ‘Omo Alhaji’, and so many others.

Content creator Adedeji Adesokan, aka Shank Comics, has disclosed that men can truly love their partners while still cheating.
In a recent interview, the comedian stated that, excluding himself, he believes many men can love their partners while also having outside relationships.
Shank said he believes men can multitask emotionally and that cheating is not always intended to hurt their partners, though he acknowledged that hurt often occurs in the process.
He acknowledged that explaining his stance made him seem unreasonable, but he insisted that it is possible for men to love someone while still cheating.
“I feel like men can multitask. They can love you and still cheat on you. I think they love you enough not to… I don’t think the cheating is trying to hurt you; you get me? But you getting hurt in the process is… The more I try to explain this, the more I’m sounding crazy… But yeah, the truth is that men can love you and still like cheating,” he stated.
Just last year, Shank Comics revealed that his father converted from Islam to Christianity in a state of hunger.
According to him, his father converted to Christianity and renounced being a Muslim after a church gave him food.
The skit maker made the revelation during a recent conversation with a fellow content creator in Canada.
“I’m a Christian. Although I have a Muslim name, Saheed. My dad was a Muslim, but there was a time he was very hungry, and a church gave him food—then he converted to Christianity. My dad is so cheap. We were just hungry.”
