Legendary Nigerian musician Innocent Ujah Idibia, aka 2Baba, has alleged that living with his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay, was like “living in bondage.”
He described the experience as “living in bondage,” claiming his life was threatened while in the marriage.
The ‘African Queen’ crooner made the claims in a snippet of the upcoming episode of +234 Mzansi Podcast, co-hosted by Nigerian comedians Nedu and Acapella and South African media personality Kifilwe.
“This thing wey dem call ‘living in bondage’ is real. There were some people who were ready to kill me,” he said while responding to a question about his failed marriage to Annie.

2Baba and Annie married in May 2012. The couple shares two daughters, Isabella and Olivia.
The singer announced his separation from Annie in a controversial post on his page on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
It all began with a social media post on January 26th, where 2Baba announced that he and Annie were getting a divorce.

Hours after the announcement, the singer introduced Natasha Osawaru as his new lover.
Reacting in a viral video on social media, the singer’s mother claimed that the singer wasn’t acting in his right mind and pleaded with Natasha to remove beads from her son’s “neck and hands.” After which she petitioned the Department of State Security (DSS) that her son was missing.
In April, 2Baba took to his new Instagram page to eulogize his lover Natasha Osawaru.
In the lengthy post, the singer explained how the Edo State legislator saved him. He stated that she deserved to be celebrated and not insulted.
He also stated that his children and family have come to love and accept Natasha Osawaru.
