Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri is speaking out against counterfeit food spreading in the Nigerian market. She called on the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, to strengthen plans to stop the circulation of fake and potentially harmful products in Nigeria.
In a video she posted on her Instagram handle, Kadiri spoke about the safety of products sold in the country and warned that counterfeit and contaminated food, drinks, medicines, cosmetics, and household products pose a serious threat to human lives.

“Dear Nigerians, I’m speaking to you today with a heavy heart and deep concern about the circulation of fake products in our country.
“Every day, people buy food, drinks, medicine, cosmetics, and household products believing that they are safe, but sadly, some are poorly produced, contaminated, harmful and mostly fake. This is not just a business problem; it’s a threat to human life. Imagine little children battling kidney failure.”

In an interview on the Dear Ife podcast by Diary of a Naija Girl, Kadiri clarified that her marriage is private, not because of secrecy, but because she prefers to avoid drama.
