Popular Yoruba movie star actress Dayo Amusa has called out a content creator who alleged that she is HIV positive.
A content creator, Olaoluwa Segun, on Friday, in a viral video, named the actress among five Nigerian actors living with HIV.
However, responding to the claim in a video on her Instagram page, Dayo Amusa explained that the content creator picked up a post she made in 2019.
Debunking the viral claim, Dayo Amusa, who noted she’s HIV negative, admitted to having made a post about her HIV status six years ago to educate the public.
She further threatened legal action against the content creator.

“I want to address a video that is trending across all social media platforms since the last 24 hours. A video posted by someone I don’t know, and people start to tag me in it.

“The video is related to a post I made in 2019 regarding my HIV status, which was negative. The purpose of that post was to educate people on the importance of knowing their HIV status. And even if, for any reason, you’re positive, it’s important to seek medical help and take the necessary steps. After all, it’s not the end of the world.
“It’s shocking that someone picked it and enlisted me with others, claiming we are HIV positive without any proper investigation. The post has attracted several comments and likes. I am not going to let this slide. I will make you a scapegoat,” she added.

Dayo Amusa has recounted her desperation to have a child in her latest interview.
The thespian recalled how she broke down in tears in the presence of her domestic staff as she cried to God to bless her with a child.
She said she gave God an ultimatum to either take her life or fulfil his promise for her as she noted how she had undergone several medical checkups and surgeries in a bid to have a child.
Speaking in a recent interview with Debbie Shokoya, Amusa said,
“I remember I was singing at the deepest and the top of my voice. Remember, I was crying so deeply like I didn’t mind that my maid and domestic workers were around. I was telling God, Either you take my life at this moment or you fulfill that promise which you have promised me. If there is anything positive about my life that is remaining I think this is the time.
Cried and told God I was tired. I knew how many medical checkups I had gone through. I know the amount of surgeries I have had. So, if this thing will still happen, I told God to let it happen. If it’s not going to happen, He should kill me”
In November last year, Dayo Amusa welcomed a baby boy named Oluwafirewamiri.
She has previously revealed that her ex-husband left her due to her struggle with infertility and got another woman pregnant.
