Nigerian singer Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere, Aka Fave, has expressed concern over a purported order for musicians to refrain from performing in Nigeria during the Islamic month of Ramadan.
The Baby Riddim crooner bemoaned the fact that her desire to perform in Nigeria on her birthday, March 13, was facing obstacles because it coincided with Ramadan, when it is purportedly illegal to hold musical performances.
On her X handle, she wrote, “So I was tryna do a show in Nigeria on my birthday this year, but they’re telling me shows aren’t allowed during Ramadan? I’m a little confused.”

In another post, the singer revealed that promoters have been rejecting her proposed show back-to-back because it falls during Ramadan.
She argued that Ramadan shouldn’t be affecting her or her business, stressing that she is a Christian and never heard about Ramadan practices until her late teens.

She wrote, “I started this year wanting to do my first show in Nigeria on my birthday as an independent artiste and back to back, promoters kept sending word to my team saying the same thing.
“I grew up in the south and never heard of Ramadan practices till I was in my late teens. I respect all religions. But I’m Christian and I really want to do this on my birthday so if you’re reading this and are open to organize, I’d be so happy.”
Grammy-nominated Nigerian artist David Adeleke, aka Davido, has spoken up about his feelings following his Grammy loss.
The musician acknowledged that the defeat had a significant impact on him and that he was unable to attend the after-party in a post on his Instagram page.
He did, however, disclose that Chioma, his wife, supported him and used comforting words to help him regain his confidence.
”I said baby listen we lost again let’s not go she said ‘Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat’ we outside. My ride or die. She dey my back, active geng,” he wrote.
Chioma, in turn, responded in a separate post, reaffirming her love and confidence in him.
”You already know that you’re the perfect one,” she wrote.
