Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, aka Tems, has announced that she is done with relationships and has “left the streets”.
This term is commonly used for women who are getting married or are no longer searching for love.
The Grammy-winning singer disclosed this during a TikTok livestream on Monday.
She, however, explained that she was leaving the streets because she was tired of men wasting her time.
“I don’t like it when guys waste my time. But for me, never again. I don’t have that problem anymore. I have left the streets; I wouldn’t even say I was ever on the streets,” she said.
Tems has previously lamented how most of the men who approach her always have ulterior motives.
In an interview with YouTuber Korty EO last year, Tems revealed that many of the men who approached her for relationships were mostly interested in her body.
She said she would have preferred genuine and deeper connections.

In December, the singer had expressed her serious concerns about a possible partner.
The Love Me Jeje crooner stated that she cannot date hostile or uninterested men in a recent interview with the American group Complex.
She claims that if one person isn’t amiable and interested in their spouse, the essence of a partnership is lost.
“My dating terms are someone who is not trying to be your friend is a red flag. Anybody that isn’t curious about you is also a red flag. Because what are we doing? Why are we here if you don’t want to know me?
“If he or she doesn’t want to know more about you, end the relationship,” she said. Tems said she is a “lover girl” but trying to be careful due to past experiences.
She added that she is more focused on self-love currently.
