Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has talked about how losing her father when she was just 16 years old damaged her life and how many people lost faith in her following the tragic event.
Rosman revealed that the loss was so devastating that she considered suicide in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jidenowo.
She remembered that in the midst of the anguish, some people said that because her father was dead, she would become a prostitute.

She said, “After I lost my dad at 16, many people said to me that I would end up becoming a prostitute and get pregnant out of wedlock.
“Grief can drive you to a point of suicide because grief is probably one of the hardest things to overcome. My tough upbringing definitely prepared me to want to do better every day. I don’t know how ambitious I would have been if I had grown up in a very comfortable environment.”

Bucci Franklin opens up on growing up without a father, praises single mothers
“As a kid, I had my woman shege. It is not easy to be a single parent. My mum had to go to work. Not having a father figure is quite difficult. Maximum respect to women out there taking care of their children by themselves. But you need a man in your life. If you do not want to get married, you need a brother to play that role. For boys especially, you just need a father figure,” Bucci Franklin said.
The actor also revealed that despite his father’s absence while growing up, he forgave him and sees him as a good man.
“I was into girls, drugs by drugs, I mean cigarettes. Drinking beer at a very young age. Coming back home completely wasted. My dad is good, but he was not in the picture. I see him now for the man he is, not the man he was. I have forgiven him,” he added.
