The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, allegedly arrested Nigerian rapper Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, aka Oladips, for failing to pay taxes.
The musician revealed this information when talking about his time in EFCC custody. In November 2024, the EFCC stormed Oladip’s estate and took him and other inhabitants into custody at around three in the morning on suspicion of fraud.
Speaking about the experience in his Hip TV interview, Oladips claimed that he was imprisoned for failing to pay taxes after it was determined that he is not a fraudster.
“Nigeria just happened to me because it was just a normal night and EFCC entered my estate. I mean it’s a big estate and they were just going from house to house arresting people. I was inside my house. It was about 3am.
“I saw it inside the estate group that EFCC were inside. I promise you, I was on my bed pressing phone because it’s none of my business. I didn’t run because I don’t do fraud, I don’t do Yahoo. Na person wey do fraud go dey run.

“The next thing, they broke my kitchen door and entered my house and asked for my phone and laptop. I’m only using two phones, I don’t have a laptop. So they collected my phones did their investigation and realised that I don’t fraud. When they can’t find anything to hold me down, That’s when one of their oga came out and said do I pay tax? That’s how they locked me up for not paying tax”, he narrated.
Tuoyo Ideh, ex-BBNaija housemate, has accused the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) of abusing him.
During an NDLEA investigation at Proxy nightclub early on Sunday, Pretty Mike and more than 100 patrons were taken into custody.
Tuoyo posted a video to his Instagram site detailing his experience. As a promoter for the club, he explained the mental and physical suffering he went through.
