British actor Michael Ward, famous for his role in the Netflix series “Top Boy,” has been charged with sexual assault.
The 27-year-old ward appeared in a London court to face the charges, which include two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault against one woman in January 2023.
He denied all charges in a statement last month, saying he had cooperated with police throughout their investigation.

Ward’s career has been marked by critical acclaim, including a BAFTA Rising Star award in 2020 and nominations for his performances in “Small Axe” and “Empire of Light.”
He has also landed a role in the upcoming Hollywood movie “Eddington” alongside Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal.
Ward was granted conditional bail and is set to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 25, with the condition that he not contact the alleged victim.

Yoruba movie star actor Afeez Abiodun says his wife, Mide Martins, is completely different from the character she plays on screen.
Abiodun, who has been married to Mide for nearly two decades, noted that while audiences may see her act as a tough and confrontational woman in movies, she is in reality calm and non-violent.
“She’s the opposite of what people see on TV,” he said in a recent interview. “I have never had any reason to separate her from fighting anyone on set. She would rather get into her car and drive off than engage in any fight.”

He further compared her to their colleague, actress Wunmi Toriola, whom he described as closer in real life to the no-nonsense roles she plays in films.
“Wunmi’s character is a bit similar to her role in movies,” he said. “If you don’t look for her trouble she won’t fight you, but if you trespass, she will act exactly as you see in movies.”
Abiodun explained that the fight was “our first and last fight as a couple”.
Afeez Owo clarified that the incident began as a simple misunderstanding, which he admitted to handling poorly due to anger. He added that the situation, however, escalated dramatically when it spilt onto social media.
