Theo Abu Agada, Director of New Media and Strategic Communications for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), stated on Saturday that Abia State Governor Alex Otti ought to lead the party’s presidential campaign for Peter Obi.
According to Agada, Otti benefited the most from the 2023 “Peter Obi” political wave.
In 2023, Obi and Otti belonged to the Labour Party (LP). Otti was elected governor of Abia State, whereas the incumbent governor of Anambra State lost the presidential election.
According to Agada, Otti is endorsing President Bola Tinubu’s anti-people initiatives.
Posting on X, Agada wrote: “If we are being honest, Alex Otti should be at the forefront campaigning for and supporting the 2027 ambition of His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi under the NDC.
“He was the biggest beneficiary of Obi’s wave in 2023. If for nothing else, he owes him.
“By supporting Tinubu’s anti-people reforms, he is endorsing Tinubu for a second term. He is an enemy of the Nigerian people.”

Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has claimed that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, are working for President Bola Tinubu.
Adeyanju urged Nigerians not to vote for Obi in 2027 because such votes are for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Posting on X, the activist lawyer wrote: “Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are working for Tinubu like they did in 2023. Don’t waste your votes again on them like 2023.
“A vote for them is a vote for Bola Tinubu and the APC. They know exactly what they are doing.”
Contrary to Adeyanju’s claim, Obi ran for the presidency under the platform of the Labour Party, LP, while Kwankwaso was the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, presidential candidate.
While Tinubu won the election, Obi came third behind the then Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar.
