President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has gifted the National Association of Nigeria students (NANS) an 18-seater Coaster Bus.
The Minister of Works, Senator David Nweze Umahi, announced the 18-seater Coaster bus as a presidential gift to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) President, following a courtesy visit by a delegation of student leaders to confirm him as their Patron.
The student leaders visited Umahi to formally seek his acceptance as their Patron and to engage him on issues concerning students and national development. The visit also provided an opportunity for the Minister to highlight ongoing infrastructure projects under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, as well as the administration’s broader efforts to address infrastructure deficits and create employment through construction activities across the country.
Minister of works who asked the students to take a stand in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2027 said “Let me make an announcement on behalf President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, one 18-seater coaster bus for the NANS President.”
He said the President has a lot of evidence to show as justification to seek re-election. as “Every state is a construction site by the President ” No site has less than a thousand number of people on the job”
“The President is staying awake. That man is very intelligent. There is no segment of the system he has not passed through. I will not be ashamed to say that, I have to pray before I go to meet him because he is a very smart person and has put the country ahead of any other considerations.
“I am ready to work with you. look at Sokoto to Zamfara down to Zaria 350km, we inherited it. The total cost of that project is 350 X 2 that makes 700 km. Coating over ₦830bn.
“We have changed the pavement section to reinforced concrete. That project is ongoing. Look at from Benue down to 9th Mile in Enugu 215km by two that is 520km. The cost of that project is $959m US. I introduced a flyover which was outside the project because of the commitment of the administration of the President for the welfare of the people. We just saw it there and I went back to the President and asked do I have your permission to introduce flyover because people will die and he said go ahead.
“Today that flyover is there. I have 800m width people have been dying there, today that project is going on and is over 80% done.
“Just some days, the President approved the re-scoping and the reconstruction of Lokoja-Benin-Warri a total of 421km when. You multiply it by the dual carriageway it gives you a total of 850km.
Umahi used the occasion to express his readiness to work with the student leadership and encouraged them to take an informed position on the performance of the Tinubu administration
“I am ready for us to host campaign in the 6 Geo political zones where you will have bring all the students.
“I want you to take a side of you say that by this connection what we are doing is good, we have to take a stand to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, let him finish let him re-position our country.
Let me defend this administration, we will pay for you to love students all over the country to a point where
“I will come with some ministers” he assured He urged the students to support the President’s efforts to reposition the country and complete ongoing reforms.
He told the student “We have written to the EFCC to help also go round, we have nothing to hide,” saying The Worse is over,” for the economy and the country.
The President of the National Association oof Nigeria Students, (NANS) Akinteye Babatunde, commended the Minister for carrying out various projects across the country connecting community, facilitating commerce and making the movement of students to their various educational institutions to enhance their knowledge and skills.
The delegation included the Special Assistant on Youth Engagement to the APC National Chairman, Comrade Hon. Sunday Fashekun, and others including the President of the National Association of Polytechnic Students, the President of the National Association of University Students and the Senate President of NANS.
