British Airways has been mandated to pay a Nigerian passenger, Mr. Stephen Osho, the sum of ₦50million as compensation. The ruling came from a Federal High Court in Lagos.
The case filed by Mr. Stephen Osho stated that the airline violated its obligations under the international contract of carriage by failing to deliver his checked baggage on Flight BA307 from Paris to London on December 2, 2022.
British Airways, however, urged the court to dismiss the claim, arguing that the prosecutor was responsible for the situation.

The judge who presided over the case, Justice Ibrahim Kala, stated that Osho endured hardship and financial loss due to British Airways’ negligence.
Justice Kala also noted that the airline is to cover litigation, legal, and summons fees, which is N3 million.
