The Nigeria Police Force has detained controversial DJ Chicken for threatening the life of Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.
In an internet video posted two days ago, DJ Chicken declared that the president would not be able to win reelection in 2027 and promised to assassinate Seyi Tinubu if he did.
Rumours about DJ Chicken’s arrest appeared on social media two days after the video went viral.
However, content producer Tunde Perry confirmed DJ Chicken’s arrest during a livestream on Thursday night.
“DJ Chicken did a video that Tinubu can’t win the next election. Knowing fully well that Tinubu is the only Yoruba man contesting for the next presidential election in 2027. And said even if Tinubu wins, he will kill Seyi Tinubu. The president and his son are not responsible for his arrest but those close to the presidency did.”

Claims that Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), supported the ruling administration have been refuted.
Adeboye has continuously maintained a neutral position on partisan politics, according to a statement issued by RCCG Public Relations on Tuesday.
The church clarified that the pastor does not support any political party; rather, he advises members to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and cast their ballots for the politicians of their choosing.
“Pastor E. A. Adeboye has always encouraged members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to get their PVCs and vote for anyone of their choice. He has always maintained a neutral stance on political parties, as members of the church are members of various parties,” the statement reads.
The church also refuted reports that Adeboye cancelled a planned protest. It said he merely communicated a directive from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria concerning changes to a three-day prayer programme and rally.
