Celebrity host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has talked about his 13-year battle with smoking and how he finally gave it up by making a conscious effort.
Ebuka stated that he began smoking in junior secondary school in a recent episode of the MENtality podcast featuring Banky W and Aproko Doctor.
He claims that the habit got worse while he was in college, when he smoked up to two packs of cigarettes every day.

“But I started smoking in JSS 3, and I smoked for 13 years. In university, I was doing about two packs a day,” he said.
He credited conscious, intentional steps for helping him overcome the addiction.
Banky W also shared a personal account, revealing he developed a pornography addiction while trying to stop being promiscuous.
He explained he initially viewed it as a way to avoid relationships with multiple women, but realised he had replaced one harmful habit with another.

Ebuka concurred, pointing out that a lot of people trade one addiction for another in an effort to get rid of the first.
Aproko Doctor provided background information on the psychology of addiction, pointing out that people frequently form harmful habits in an effort to avoid suffering.
He clarified that substance abuse and other addictions are frequently coping methods for challenging emotions or situations and that human behaviour is primarily motivated by avoiding pain and pursuing pleasure.
The three stressed self-awareness and self-regulation as essential strategies for recognising and conquering harmful addictions.
Actress and former Big Brother Naija star Bisola Aiyeola has openly discussed the 2018 death of her daughter Leyla’s father, characterising it as an unpleasant and unanticipated loss.
Bisola described how he passed away while in the hospital due to an illness in an interview on Ife Agoro’s show.
He sounded better and confirmed plans to leave the hospital on Friday during a phone chat, she added, which gave the family hope after the doctors established a discharge date.
