President Bola Tinubu received an invitation on Friday from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to attend the 10th Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh this October.

The invitation was delivered by Saudi Ambassador Yousef Albalawi during an audience with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Saudi Embassy in Nigeria confirmed the development via its official X handle on Friday.

Albalawi conveyed the invitation on behalf of the Crown Prince, requesting Tinubu’s participation in the landmark investment forum.

President Tinubu expressed appreciation to the Saudi leadership and reaffirmed the cordial ties between both nations.

Tinubu expressed his “sincere thanks and appreciation for the invitation” and praised “the strong relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Republic of Nigeria across various fields.”

The Future Investment Initiative is Saudi Arabia’s flagship global investment conference, often referred to as the “Davos in the Desert.”

It is organised annually by the Future Investment Initiative Institute, a non-profit foundation based in Riyadh, and serves as a platform for world leaders, investors, business executives, innovators and policymakers to discuss global economic trends, technology, sustainability and investment opportunities.

The 10th edition of the FII is expected to be held in Riyadh in October 2026, marking a decade since the initiative was launched in 2017 as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification programme.

Over the years, the forum has attracted heads of state, sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations, entrepreneurs and leading financial institutions from around the world.

This year’s summit is expected to focus on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, energy transition, climate resilience, healthcare innovation, infrastructure development, advanced manufacturing and strategies for mobilising global capital to drive sustainable economic growth.
