After expressing her opinions on relationships, money, and financial independence, Ivy Ifeoma, the wife of Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy, has generated controversy.
Ifeoma counselled unmarried women not to prioritise marrying a wealthy man in a video broadcast that was posted on her TikTok channel.
She clarified that although marrying into a wealthy family can present benefits, a woman should prioritise establishing her own financial security.
She also revealed that she was already a billionaire before meeting the musician, dispelling rumours that she married Paul Okoye for financial gain because of their large age difference.
Ivy said, “This is my take on the idea of marrying a rich man and before you come for me, know that I was a millionaire before I met this man [Paul Okoye].

“Marrying a rich man should not be anybody’s primary goal. Why would you even want to have a primary goal of marrying someone because they are rich? At the end of the day, it is their money, not your money.
“Don’t get me wrong, marrying rich is a very good add-on because it can open doors of opportunities for you. But what I will tell you to do as a woman is to get rich.”
She added that rich folks prefer ambitious and industrious women, urging single ladies to invest in themselves.
In September 2025, Paul Okoye threatened to sue a social media user who accused him of mistreating a domestic worker.
Photos from Rudeboy’s wife Ivy Ifeoma’s 25th birthday celebration, went viral on X (previously Twitter), sparking the uproar.
The couple’s age difference was ridiculed by an X user, @Zoyabloms, who labelled as “Evil Feminist.” Another user, @darkskinnedtemi, who also identified as a feminist, intensified the discussion with derogatory remarks.
Rudeboy and his housemaid were accused of cheating by the X user.
According to one report, @chubbiedivah, the singer forced their domestic assistance, implying that she was not yet of legal age. He also allegedly ejected his sister-in-law and then-wife after being confronted.
The post quickly caught the attention of Rudeboy’s fans, who drew his attention to it.
In a swift reaction, the “Reason With Me” hitmaker vowed to track down the user and hold them accountable.
