Afrobeats artist Afeez Adeshina, aka Destiny Boy, has passed away.
On Sunday, January 18, 2025, a video of his lifeless body appeared on social media.
The deceased body is now being carried to Abeokuta in Ogun State for burial as of the time this report was filed out.

The singer became well-known in 2019 following his Fuji rendition of Davido’s popular song “If.”

After being hurt in an explosion at a filming location in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the artist passed away.
In a statement posted on the RockBottom Flix Instagram page on Friday, well-known producer and director James Abinibi revealed the sad event.
“During a filming session, a sudden and unexpected explosion occurred in a designated effects preparation area outside the film set, where James was experimenting with an unauthorised pyrotechnic stimulation involving a gas cylinder alongside his two assistants.

“James succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His two assistants sustained fire burn injuries and were taken to a specialist hospital, where they received immediate medical attention and were later confirmed stable as they continue to receive treatment,” Abinibi said.
Bunmi Akinnanu, a well-known gospel singer from Nigeria who is best known for her hit song “Omije Ojumi,” is dead.
A close source acquainted with the singer’s family confirmed the news of her passing on Tuesday night.
The family has not yet issued an official statement, but further information is anticipated in the days ahead.
A video of the singer at G.F. David Ministries in Ibadan, Oyo State, in late 2025 became viral online. It showed her sitting with her leg outstretched while people prayed for her healing.
The footage drew widespread attention and concern over the severity of her condition.
During the service, the presiding cleric revealed that Akinnanu had been experiencing persistent bleeding in her leg. This prompted an intense prayer session.
The video quickly went viral, with fans and well-wishers across Nigeria organising prayer vigils and flooding social media with messages of support.
Over the years, she released several other gospel tracks, earning her recognition as one of the respected voices in the Nigerian gospel music industry.
