The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force says a community conflict in the Lamurde Local Government Area resulted in the burning of 33 homes.
Long-standing land disputes have led to a fight between the Bachama and Chobo tribes in the LGA.
It has now escalated into widespread devastation, necessitating the extensive use of police forces to bring about order.
In a statement released Wednesday morning, the police said that, aside from the marks of devastation, all was now peaceful in the region.
“A total of 33 round huts and three flat houses were discovered burnt,” the state police command said in the statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.

Nguroje stated that to strengthen security and prevent a further breakdown of law and order, more mobile police force personnel from Operation Farauta and Counter Terrorism unit have been deployed to the area.
He added that investigations remained on course to identify the perpetrators of the crisis.
