Professor Isa Ali Pantami, a former minister of communications and digital economy, has offered firsthand accounts of his experiences living with former President Muhammadu Buhari for 25 years.
After Buhari passed away in a London hospital on Sunday at the age of 82, Pantami made the statement on Tuesday while paying condolences at the late president’s home in Daura, Katsina State.
He said that his intimate relationship with Buhari over the years had reinforced his conviction in the late president’s everlasting honesty, patriotism, and discipline.

“Muhammadu Buhari’s name is synonymous with integrity. One may argue if you don’t know him but for those of us who interacted with him for several years, there is no doubt that his name is synonymous with integrity,” Pantami told journalists.
According to him, “I lived with him for 25 years and Almighty is my witness, I have never doubted that integrity through my interactions with him.”
He added that Buhari’s legacy would endure through his example of critical thinking and devotion to national interest.
