In the as-yet-unconcluded by-election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) was defeated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday at polling station 001, where Defence Minister Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar cast his ballot.
To choose a representative for the Garki-Babura federal seat, eligible voters turned out at Babura Kofar Arewa Primary School.

In the minister’s polling unit, the PDP received 308 votes, compared to 112 for the APC.
Under strict security, the minister, an APC leader and the state’s most recent governor, cast his ballot.
According to reports, he departed without speaking to reporters.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, held rerun and bye-elections in at least 12 states nationwide on Saturday.
The exercise was tainted in some areas by violence, vote buying, and disinterest.
