Karen Lojore, a 20-year-old lady, was killed in a stampede after Asake’s concert in Nairobi, Kenya.
Overcrowding at Nairobi’s Nyayo National Stadium resulted in a stampede on Saturday, December 20.
Karen was reportedly given emergency resuscitation by on-site paramedics before being taken to Nairobi West Hospital, where she was declared dead.
Tukutane Entertainment, the show’s organiser, confirmed the incident and expressed regret on its Instagram site.
“We are deeply saddened to confirm that a tragic incident occurred during our December 20th concert, resulting in the loss of life.
“Our hearts are with the family, friends, and loved ones affected by this devastating loss. We’re cooperating fully with emergency services and the appropriate authorities as they work to understand what happened.”
This is not the first time a fatal stampede has happened at Asake’s concert.
33-year-old Nigerian mother of two, Rebecca Ikumelo lost her life in December 2022, at Asake’s concert in Brixton O2 Academy in London after sustaining severe injuries during a stampede.
