Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged residents across the state to turn out massively for the upcoming August 15 governorship election, declaring peaceful civic participation as the bedrock of democratic sustainability.
Adeleke made the call on Thursday during the official commissioning of the newly constructed Oke-Fia Flyover in Osogbo, the state capital, where he framed infrastructure delivery as a cornerstone of his administration’s re-election pitch.
Addressing eligible voters at the landmark event, the governor appealed for orderliness at the polls while assuring citizens that their votes would count.
Expressing gratitude for the public support extended to his administration since taking office, Adeleke promised to expand developmental projects and social intervention programs if granted a second term.
Community leaders and traditional institutions warmly endorsed the infrastructure milestone.
Speaking on behalf of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, the Asiwaju of Osogboland, Justice Moshood Adeigbe (retd.), praised the governor for transforming the state capital’s landscape. The monarch noted that the Oke-Fia Flyover would significantly ease urban traffic congestion while elevating the aesthetic value of Osogbo.
“We appreciate Governor Adeleke for this magnificent edifice,” Justice Adeigbe stated during his address. “Osogbo has witnessed significant infrastructural development under this administration, and this project is a testament to the government’s commitment to improving the lives of the people.”
The high-profile ceremony drew a massive crowd of political leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, party loyalists, and local residents. Attendees widely lauded the flyover project as a signature accomplishment that underlines the administration’s performance record heading into the election.
