Peter Obi, the Labour candidate for president in the 2023 election, will not serve as the flagbearer of any political party, including the African Democratic Congress, says Daniel Bwala, a presidential special adviser.
He added that the former governor of Anambra might not be elected vice president.

He revealed this in an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday.
According to Bwala, Peter Obi received half as many votes in the 2023 election.
He bragged that President Tinubu will secure two million votes in the south-east region in 2027.
“He is not going to get a ticket in any of the parties. That is Peter Obi. The problem now is that he might not get the vice presidential ticket from the way things are going.
“Whether Peter Obi is a ticket bearer of the party, he has lost his 50 percent of votes because they were not votes built on agenda and politics, but they were built on rhetoric and division, and Nigeria’s people’s eyes are open,” he said.
The Intercept reported that Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and other political heavyweights in July 2025 backed ADC as the platform for the opposition coalition to unseat President Tinubu.
