Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transport, has had his bid for president rejected by Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.
Wike responded that Amaechi’s presidential bid is “dead on arrival” in response to his assertions that he is aware of President Bola Tinubu’s weaknesses.
Appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Wike said Amaechi knows he cannot secure the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Amaechi is currently a member of the ADC, and there are rumours that he intends to run for the presidency in 2027.
However, Wike said: “He (Amaechi) knows he won’t get the ticket. I read that he said he knows the weaknesses of the president, so he knows how to defeat him, but he also knew the weaknesses of the president in 2022 when the president defeated him mercilessly in the primary.
“Nigerians know the last person they will give a ticket to because they know it (Amaechi’s bid) is dead on arrival.
