Liverpool Football Club has announced the release of Forever in Our Hearts, a new biography celebrating the life, career and legacy of its late former forward Diogo Jota.
The club said all profits from LFC purchases of the book would support the LFC Foundation, with the proceeds funding a grassroots football programme to be established in Jota’s name.
Written by Portuguese author and former professional footballer José Delgado, the biography follows Jota’s journey from his early years in Portugal to becoming a respected figure in football and a much-loved member of the Liverpool family.
The book draws on interviews with family members, friends, teammates and coaches, including his wife, Rute, his parents, Isabel and Joaquim, and former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp. More than 90 people who knew Jota also contributed to the biography.
Through their accounts, the book explores Jota’s talent, determination and humility, while highlighting the close relationship he shared with his brother, André Silva, and the impact both brothers had on their teammates, supporters and the wider football community.
Published by Reach Sport, the biography covers Jota’s successful spell at Liverpool, which included winning the Premier League, as well as his achievements with Portugal, including UEFA Nations League success.
It also reflects on the tragic events following his marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Rute, and the widespread grief and tributes that followed the deaths of Jota and his brother in July 2025.
Speaking about the book, Delgado said his aim was to preserve Jota’s memory and tell his story with care, honesty and respect for the late forward, his brother and their loved ones.
He praised the family, teammates, coaches and friends who shared their memories, adding that their accounts helped him understand the strong bond between Jota and Liverpool FC.
Delgado expressed hope that Forever in Our Hearts would serve as a fitting tribute to Jota’s life and legacy while inspiring future generations.
The book is available through official Liverpool FC stores and online, with the club describing it as a lasting tribute to its former No.20 and a way to support grassroots football opportunities in his name.
Liverpool continues to honour the memories of Jota and André. Earlier this year, the club unveiled a permanent memorial outside Anfield in tribute to the brothers, providing a place for supporters to remember their lives and their impact on the football community.
Diogo Jota and his brother, André Silva, died in a car crash in Spain on July 3, 2025, a tragedy that prompted tributes from across ont the football world.
